# ExportDocsHub

ExportDocsHub is a SaaS product for small importers and exporters who handle their own shipping paperwork instead of paying a freight forwarder or customs broker to prepare it. The product is built around a single shipment record: enter the buyer, the goods, the HS codes, and the Incoterm once, and every document for that shipment (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin) is generated from the same data, so the numbers always match across documents. It also keeps a reference trail of the bill of lading and other carrier documents attached to each shipment.

## Core vocabulary

- **HS code**: A standardized numeric code from the World Customs Organization's Harmonized System that classifies a traded product. Customs authorities use it to determine duties and restrictions.
- **Incoterms**: Standardized trade terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce (such as FOB, CIF, EXW, DDP) that define which party is responsible for transport, insurance, and customs at each stage of a shipment.
- **Certificate of origin**: A document declaring the country where the goods were manufactured. Required by many importing countries to apply the correct tariff treatment.
- **Bill of lading**: The carrier-issued document that serves as a receipt for the goods, evidence of the contract of carriage, and (in negotiable form) a document of title.
